That’s right, I am claiming it right now. Check out the photos, then come up starting tomorrow and see it for yourself. Boreal will be open 7 days/week from 9am-4pm as conditions permit.
The night crew laid it down last night. After the first push session in the cat this morning we are looking good to re-open Friday! So far the run top to bottom of the Castle Peak Quad has an average dept of 12-20 inches and there are still piles yet to be flattened out. Tonight’s forecast is for wide open snow making once again. All of tonight’s production will be put into park features! Guaranteed, we wil have a jump and the original staircase plus another 6-10 features yet to be determined. It will be an assortment..jib/bonk/stall heavy with corrugated tubes, tractor tires, mini wall(s) and RAILS/boxes to round it out. I expect one of the best early season parks we have ever been able to put out….and its still OCTOBER!!!!!!!
Snow making resumed at 5am this morning. Mother nature was on our side and the east winds blew out the humidity making it possible to run through the entire day. The night crew is on it now and it doesn’t look like we will have to shut down until sometime early Thursday. The coverage we put down today was impressive. With potentially 24 out of the next 30hrs running at max output with optimal temps we should have fat piles come time to shutdown thursday. The next update will be tomorrow morning from the snowcat!
On Friday night, October 23, 2009 the winners of Boreal’s Team Video Challenge were announced. We hosted an amazing “red carpet” party thanks to Red Bull. Teams were fed, awards we handed out and fun was had by all. Sponsors including FUEL TV, Smokin’ Snowboard, Moment Skis, and Southwest Airlines provided cash and prizes to stoke out winners of several categories. But the night could not have happened without mountain sponsors 686, Thirty-Two, DaKine, Smith Optics and Neff.
We are just waiting for the new round of snowmaking or snow storms, which ever comes first. Keep an eye on the site, we will let you know as soon as we are open again.
Aspen Spora rips! Even though he wasn’t officially in the team challenge I have to put his video up with the big dogs. Everyone better watch out because I bet he will be in JPI6 next year. Keep up the good work Aspen.
